Frequently asked questions
What do you offer?
Two things: hands-on AI workshops for small businesses and teams, and one-on-one consulting to help you put AI to work in your day-to-day communication. Workshops teach your team the basics of prompt writing and safe, practical AI use. Consulting goes deeper, building tools and processes suited to your organization.
Who are your workshops for?
Small business owners, nonprofit staff and teams who want to use AI but don't have a technical background. Every session is taught in plain language, with no jargon, and starts from wherever your team is right now.
What's your background?
I have a Ph.D. in Communication from Bowling Green State University and over 15 years experience teaching communication and public relations in higher education. I built one of the first college-level AI literacy courses in the country. I also run a communication consulting practice and write Prompt & Proper, a newsletter on AI in the workplace.
How do the workshops run?
If you are located in Southeast Michigan I like to do in-person otherwise sessions are remote. Most sessions run as half or full day workshops, though timing can be tailored to your team's schedule. Each session ends with practical takeaways your team can use the same day.
What does it cost?
Pricing depends on group size and scope. I do free consultations to help you plan what services best fit your organization’s needs. Just sign up on my booking page and we can chat!
Do you work with nonprofits or schools?
Yes. I've consulted with schools, nonprofits and small businesses, and I tailor every engagement to the organization's resources and goals.
How do I get started?
Just click “book online” for a free consultation and tell me what your team is working on. I'll follow up with a few options based on your size and goals.
What is Prompt & Proper?
Prompt & Proper is my practice for helping people use AI well at work. It covers three things: hands-on workshops, one-on-one consulting and published work, including a bi-weekly LinkedIn newsletter and a monthly Substack deep dive. All three are built around the same goal: making AI useful, ethical and low-cost for small businesses and teams.
